Refunds & Billing

Who you're buying from. Interdatum Systems Incorporated (trading as Packyard), 5053 Cambria Wood Terrace, Victoria, BC V8Y 2X1, Canada, billing@packyard.ca. Charges appear on your statement as PACKYARD HOSTING.

Where we sell. During the beta, paid plans are available only with a billing address in the United States or Canada, excluding Quebec. Purchases with a billing address anywhere else (including Quebec) are refunded in full straight away and cancelled.

Prices and tax. All prices are in USD, plus applicable taxes. The price is $1.50 per GB of RAM a month, with a $5 minimum (up to 3 GB), for plans from 3 to 16 GB. In Canada we add GST or HST for your province, and BC customers also pay 7% BC PST. In the US we add sales tax only where we're registered to collect it (at launch, nowhere). Tax is worked out from your billing address and shown at checkout before you pay. Businesses can add a tax ID at checkout. Add-on:

• Extra backups (30-day retention, twice the slots): $1.50 a month.

How billing works. You pay upfront for each month (or year). Your plan renews automatically on the same date until you cancel. We email you a receipt and a copy of these terms after each purchase.

Beta pricing. During the beta you pay 50% off the plan ($0.75 per GB a month) and the add-on (Extra backups: $0.75 a month) for servers started by 6 December 2026. During the beta the $5 minimum is $2.50, so a 3 GB plan costs $2.50 a month. Beta pricing ends at public launch on 14 December 2026. We'll email you (on 30 November 2026) at least 14 days before your first full-price renewal, and your first renewal on or after 14 December 2026 is at the normal price. You can cancel or resize before then. Servers started from 7 December pay the normal price. Annual plans aren't available during the beta.

Annual plans (from public launch). Pay for 10 months and get 12 (two months free). We email you 30 days and 7 days before an annual plan renews. Cancel in the panel at any time.

Money-back on your first payment. New customer and not happy? Ask within 72 hours of your first payment, monthly or annual, and we'll refund it in full, no questions asked. This applies once per customer (we match by card), and not to accounts closed for breaking our rules.

After the first 72 hours.

• Monthly plans: no partial refunds. Cancel any time and your server keeps running until the end of the period you've paid for.
• Annual plans: if you cancel, we refund what you paid minus the normal monthly price for each month you've started, never less than zero. (Leaving early means losing the two free months.)
• Outages: if your server is down for more than an hour because of a problem on our side, we credit your account for the time lost, pro rata. Email us if you think we missed one.

Your legal rights. These policies don't take away any rights your local consumer law gives you, including your province's or state's rules on online contracts and automatic renewals. EU and UK customers (once we sell there): by law you have 14 days to withdraw from an online contract. Because your server starts as soon as you pay, at checkout we ask you to agree that the service starts immediately and that you lose this right once it has been fully provided. If you withdraw within 14 days, we'll refund you minus the share of the period you've already used. Our 72-hour refund may give you more.

Upgrades and downgrades.

• Upgrades (more RAM, adding an add-on, monthly → annual) apply at once. You pay the prorated difference for the rest of the current period now. If there's no room for a bigger server right now, we tell you before charging anything.
• Downgrades (less RAM, removing an add-on, annual → monthly) apply at your next renewal. No partial refunds or credits.

Failed payments.

• Day 0: the renewal payment fails. We email you, show a banner in the panel, and retry automatically. Your server keeps running.
• Day 3: reminder email.
• Day 7: your server is suspended (stopped; files and backups kept). Update your card in the panel and it restarts automatically.
• Day 14: the subscription is cancelled and the server is removed. We keep a final backup and hold your address for you. To come back, start a new plan and we restore the backup onto it, with the same address.
• Day 21: "deletion in 7 days" email.
• Day 28: the backup is deleted and can't be recovered. Your address stays on hold for 90 days after the server was removed, then it's released.

Cancelling. Cancel in the panel under Billing at any time, no need to contact us. Your server runs until the end of your paid period. After that, we keep a final backup for 14 days so you can download it or come back, and then delete it.

Disputes and chargebacks. If a charge looks wrong, please email billing@packyard.ca first. We answer within 1 business day and refund mistakes straight away. If a payment is disputed with your bank instead, the server is suspended and the subscription cancelled while the dispute is open, and the card can't be used with us again.
