Cobblemon brings Pokémon-style creatures into Minecraft. You can play the mod on its own or as part of a modpack that adds gyms, structures, tech or quality-of-life mods. Here are the packs worth knowing, and how to pick one your whole group can join.

Packs update often. The loader and Minecraft version are what each pack's page listed in October 2026, so check before you install.

How to choose
- Want plain Cobblemon with friends? Start with the official pack. It's the lightest, and it matches the mod's own updates.
- Want a full adventure with gyms and badges? Cobbleverse.
- Want Cobblemon inside a big modded world? All the Mons. Plan for more RAM.
- Loader matters. Fabric and NeoForge builds can't join each other. Everyone on a server needs the same pack, the same version and the same loader.
How much RAM does a Cobblemon server need?
For the official pack with 2–5 players, 6 GB is a comfortable start. Bigger packs, more players and big explored worlds need more. Our modpack RAM guide explains how to size it.
Run the official Cobblemon pack on Packyard
We install the official Cobblemon modpack for you, on Fabric or NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1. Pick the build your players use. Players join a permanent address like my-server.play.packyard.ca that stays the same. Servers run in Seattle (US West).

Is Cobbleverse Fabric or NeoForge?
Fabric (1.21.1).
Can Fabric and NeoForge Cobblemon players play together?
No. Everyone needs the same loader and pack version as the server.
Can I play a Cobblemon modpack with friends without a server?
Open to LAN works only for players on the same home network, and only while the host is playing. A server keeps the world up for everyone.
